PMA Committees
PMA committees are where much of the Association’s work happens. Committee members help shape programming, provide support, advance strategic priorities, and ensure PMA continues to meet the needs of its members.

Membership Engagement Committee
Focus: Building Community and Connection
The Membership Engagement Committee helps create a vibrant and connected PMA community. Through social events, volunteer and community service opportunities, and exclusive member perks, the committee fosters meaningful connections and enhances the overall member experience.

Negotiations Committee
Focus: Compensation, Benefits, and Working Conditions
The Negotiations Committee represents PMA members in discussions with the University related to salary, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment. By gathering member feedback and priorities, the committee ensures negotiations reflect the needs and interests of the PMA membership.

Personnel Policies Committee
Focus: Workplace Policy Development and Review
The Personnel Policies Committee works to shape the policies that impact PMA members. In partnership with the PMA Executive and Western Human Resources, the committee reviews existing policies, develops new initiatives, and advocates for improvements that support a fair and effective workplace.

Professional Development Committee
Focus: Learning, Growth, and Career Development
The Professional Development Committee empowers PMA members through workshops, speaker events, networking opportunities, and learning programs. The committee’s goal is to provide relevant, practical, and engaging professional development opportunities that support career growth and success.

Support and Equity Committee
Focus: Peer Support, Well-Being, and Inclusive Workplaces
The Support and Equity Committee provides confidential peer support to members navigating workplace concerns. The committee also promotes employee well-being, equity, and healthy workplace practices while connecting members with relevant University resources and support services.

Communications Committee
Focus: Member Communications and Digital Experience
The Communications Committee works to enhance how PMA connects with its members. By reviewing communication channels, digital tools, and member-facing services, the committee identifies opportunities to improve engagement, accessibility, and the overall member experience.

Executive Advisory Committee
Focus: Strategic Priorities and Organizational Growth
The Executive Advisory Committee provides strategic insight and guidance to support the PMA President, Board, and standing committees. Members contribute expertise and leadership to help advance key initiatives and strengthen the Association’s impact.

Racial Equity and Belonging Committee
Focus: Equity, Inclusion, and Community Building
The Racial Equity and Belonging Committee supports self-identifying Black, Indigenous, and Racialized PMA members by fostering connection, community, and belonging. Through networking opportunities, professional development initiatives, resource sharing, and advocacy, the committee works to promote equity and advance a more inclusive PMA and Western community.
The committee also partners with other PMA committees to deliver educational and community-building events open to all members.
